A practical and professional learning environment
Excelia Communication School’s Agency Challenge turns learning into a real adventure! Working in teams, you’ll operate exactly like a communication agency, receiving detailed briefs from partner companies such as Vinci Autoroutes. Your challenge? To come up with creative and effective solutions in record time. This exercise immerses you in the reality of the business world, faced with budget constraints, tight deadlines, and specific expectations to be met. It’s the perfect opportunity to mobilise the full range of your talents and give the best of yourself!

At Excelia Communication School, we like to challenge you with practical and stimulating projects. One such example is our collaboration with Vinci Autoroutes, a renowned partner who entrusted us with some crucial assignments: 8 groups of students worked on these assignments for a week, with 2 groups chosen as the winners at the end.
Raising awareness of best practice
Assignment 1: to draw up an internal communication plan to raise awareness among the employees of Vinci Autoroutes of ‘good habits’ that help prevent accidents at work. The students had to use all their ingenuity to devise hard-hitting messages and compelling campaigns to encourage employees to adopt safer behaviour.
This type of assignment is an opportunity to prove that you can turn theoretical concepts into effective and impactful communication strategies.
Improving signage at motorway service areas
Assignment 2: to rethink the signage at motorway service areas to make the customer experience more fluid and inclusive. The students had to analyse user journeys, identify friction points, and suggest innovative solutions. Whether it’s clearer signs, multilingual information or more accessible facilities, every detail counts when it comes to improving user comfort and satisfaction.
These assignments allow you to put your communication and design skills into practice, working on tangible projects with a genuine impact. By collaborating with Vinci Autoroutes, our students have worked on current industry issues and developed creative and pragmatic solutions. It’s an opportunity not only to enhance their portfolios, but also to gain valuable experience that will make their CVs stand out.
Assessment and feedback
The groups of learners (a dozen or so groups) worked under the guidance of an industry professional to come up with tangible, well-argued proposals in the form of mock-ups, explaining all the methodology involved.
At the end of the exercise, they had the opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of industry professionals and experienced lecturers.
