The Experience Tour 2024… an innovative pedagogical project

The Experience Tour 2024 project is an integral part of Year 2 of our Bachelor specialising in digital communication. In association with Zealand (Academy of Technologies and Business), our partner institution in Denmark, this project gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in culture and the arts by visiting a number of prominent cities such as La Rochelle, Nantes, Bordeaux, and Poitiers. This third part, which marked the end of the season, enabled students to enrich their creative thinking.

An international partnership to stimulate creativity

This part of the Experience Tour saw a delegation of seven Danish students join the project, illustrating the importance of an international outlook in the training of our communication students. This partnership with Zealand encourages the exchange of ideas and approaches, stimulating the creativity of all participants and developing their ability to conceive innovative projects in an intercultural context.

Reflection on the creative process… from observation to creation

Throughout this project, students were able to explore a range of artistic and cultural dimensions. Armed with their findings and photographs taken during their visits, they then set about designing tangible communication objects, making use of specialist software, as well as more conventional tools such as Bristol board, glue and Stanley knives, to give shape to their ideas. The aim was to transform the discoveries made during the trip into tangible, innovative creations.

Creative works… almanacs and other support media

The students’ creations, referred to as ‘almanacs’, took a variety of forms: artistic booklets, postcards, reimagined road maps, and interactive leaflets, amongst others. Each piece of work reflected not only their creative talent, but also their ability to harness their theoretical and practical learning to effectively communicate the experiences they had had on their tour.

A temporary exhibition to display their work

To showcase their creations, the students organised a temporary exhibition at the school, where they were able to share their work with their fellow students. It was an opportunity for constructive feedback and valuable advice, along with well-deserved praise for the quality of their work. This collective experience fosters collaboration and critical thinking, two essential skills in the field of communication.

A rich and inspiring educational experience

This third part of the Experience Tour 2024 builds on previous stages, which have all highlighted the importance of experimentation, interaction, and creativity. If you missed the first two parts, don’t hesitate to view them here (in French only): ·

An international programme centred on innovation

The Experience Tour is a perfect illustration of the essence of our Bachelor specialising in communication… an internationally focussed programme that encourages creativity, innovation, and international collaboration. Thanks to projects such as this one, our students acquire not only technical skills, but also an artistic and cultural awareness that enables them to stand out in the field of communication.

Stay tuned to find out more about upcoming International Almanak projects and to follow the development of educational initiatives that place our students at the heart of creative and innovative communication.
